Description

Daggerfall Unity: Retro Revival is a lore-friendly collection of mods for Daggerfall Unity (DFU for short), a remake of the classic Daggerfall in, you guessed it: Unity. These mods touch several areas of the game, from graphics, quality of life, bug fixes, mechanics, and more.

Warnings

  • Only tested on a Mac.
  • This list comes as-is. There is no support offered.
  • My load order wasn't rock solid, but was tested in many locations, with many character types.
  • This list will not be maintained. If something no longer works, it no longer works.
  • Many mods will break an existing save or just not work on anything but a new game.
  • Mix and match with other mods at your own risk.
  • A lot of mods themselves are bigger than the DFU core files and can take up more space than you may expect with such an old game. Especially anything graphics-related.

Third Person CameraSounds better than it is. This is mostly for taking screenshots of your character in the landscape.
Lively CitiesAdds static NPCs to cities to make them more lively
Skill BooksSpend time reading to train skills
Skulduggery - A Thief OverhaulRebalances thief mechanics
Sneak and Crouch CombinedSneaking and crouching are combined into a single action to make things less annoying
The-Penwick-PapersA bunch of new interesting spells, features, and items
Uncannys Always HitSpeeds up combat quite a bit, but some people don't like it
UncannyUIImproves some of the UI while staying true to the original
Usable Starting EquipmentAfter character creation checks all equipment to see if you can actually use it (this was a bit biggy for me but useful when I could get it to work when testing new characters)
ViewableSkillProgressShows your current progress to the next skill level. Oddly useful at higher levels.
